What it looks like
- A call or message says your SIM will be blocked, and tells you to press 1, share a code or send an eSIM QR code.
- The caller says they are from your phone company and asks you to scan or share an eSIM QR or activation code.
- Soon after, your phone loses signal, because your number has moved to the scammer's SIM and your OTPs go to them.
What to do
- Do not press keys, and do not scan or share any eSIM QR or code for a caller.
- Hang up and contact your phone company yourself, from its own app or shop.
- If your phone suddenly loses signal and you did nothing, use another phone to call your phone company and your bank at once.
If you already did it
If your SIM has gone dead without reason, use another phone to call your phone company and your bank at once. If money has moved, call 1930. Do not delete the messages or call details, they are evidence. Then report at cybercrime.gov.in.
Remember: A phone company never asks you to share an eSIM QR code, or a code, over a call to keep your SIM.

A call about your phone SIM or a QR code is a trick. Do not press or share anything. Tell a grown-up.

यह कैसा दिखता है
- कॉल या मैसेज कहता है कि आपका सिम बंद हो जाएगा, और 1 दबाने, कोई कोड बताने या ई-सिम का QR भेजने को कहता है।
- फ़ोन करने वाला खुद को आपकी फ़ोन कंपनी का बताता है और ई-सिम का QR या एक्टिवेशन कोड स्कैन या शेयर करने को कहता है।
- थोड़ी देर में फ़ोन का सिग्नल चला जाता है, क्योंकि आपका नंबर ठग के सिम पर चला गया और आपके OTP उसके पास जाते हैं।
क्या करें
- कोई बटन न दबाएँ, और किसी कॉल करने वाले के लिए ई-सिम QR या कोड स्कैन या शेयर न करें।
- कॉल काटें और फ़ोन कंपनी से खुद संपर्क करें, उसके अपने ऐप या दुकान से।
- अगर आपने कुछ नहीं किया और फ़ोन का सिग्नल अचानक चला गया, तो दूसरे फ़ोन से तुरंत फ़ोन कंपनी और बैंक को कॉल करें।
अगर आप ऐसा कर चुके हैं
अगर आपका सिम बिना वजह बंद हो गया है, तो दूसरे फ़ोन से तुरंत फ़ोन कंपनी और बैंक को कॉल करें। पैसे कट गए हों तो 1930 पर कॉल करें। मैसेज और कॉल की जानकारी डिलीट न करें, ये सबूत हैं। फिर cybercrime.gov.in पर शिकायत करें।
याद रखें: फ़ोन कंपनी सिम चालू रखने के लिए कॉल पर आपसे ई-सिम QR या कोड शेयर करने को नहीं कहती।
